Hot Fudge Pudding Cake


  • 2 cups of flour
  • 3 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t kosher salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 T cocoa
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 6 T butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 t good vanilla extract


  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  •  2/3 cup cocoa powder
  •  3 1/4 cups hot water

Preheat the oven to 350º.  Whisk cake ingredients together. Stir the milk, melted butter and vanilla into the dry ingredients. Spread the resulting batter into an ungreased 9 x 13 pan.

For the topping, mix the brown sugar and cocoa powder together. Sprinkle this over the cake batter. Pour the hot water over the entire cake. 

Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the cake part is not gooey. 

Serve with ice cream or fresh whipped cream!
